Bachata music and dance were both declared Intangible Cultural Heritage by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 2019. It is another Dominican rhythm known worldwide, and an example of how Dominican music has transcended borders and broken language barriers to be heard around the globe.
